Industrial structures, which at first seem beautiful and majestic, have long-term effects on the environment.  Over time the factories decay the natural landscapes they reside in.  In turn, the natural processes decay the materials used in constructing them, creating a landscape that is no longer beautiful and useful. The art object itself will eventually decay, break down, and rust as an object devoid of image or usefulness analogous to the industrial structures.
