Immortal Fire

My art attempts to revalorize the mundane world in and through emptiness.  As such, it negotiates delusion with the mediating thought of enlightenment, trolling arising forms until they stabilize in an ineffable and unnameable image.  In this immensely pleasurable dynamic, I discover what it means to trust and to fully exert myself in the present.
Immortal Fire is one of four paintings representing the elements–fire, air, water, earth–and used in the larger series, Free and Easy Wandering: Markings On the Way, to symbolize the first and last parcels of the breath cycle.
